There is some vanity in the release of any record by any artist at any level, but as we all grow a little older, it is sometimes nice to collect our work into an accessible archive, and this really is the purpose of the exercise. It's been a lot of fun putting it together. I have added new sleeve notes to accompany each album and I've been totally honest about how artistically successful or otherwise I consider each album or track to have been. I have even included "Summertime City" which at the time of making I found completely cringe worthy, but which I now look back upon as a kitch signpost along the road of my career."
